Academic Background

Nathalie Elsässer studied phonetics at the University of Trier and completed her studies in 2024. For her master's thesis, she investigated the acoustics and articulation of the palatalization contrast of different groups of Russian speakers.

Current Research

Since October 2024, Nathalie Elsässer is a PhD student at the Acoustics Research Institute in the field of phonetics and is working on the project "Variation of /r/: a challenge for speakers and listeners". This project investigates the different pronunciation of the /r/ sound in Austrian German.
