Assignment of rights, allocation of goods and their protection
Legal systems assign goods (such as life and health, property, personal liberty, claim-rights) to persons. By way of a monograph (title: 'Rechtszuweisung, Güterzuordnung und deren Schutz' [Assignment of rights, allocation of goods and their protection]), project leader Helmut Koziol (ETL, ECTIL) examined the content and the extent of these assignments, the means of protection provided by the law that are necessary and reasonable in relation to third parties (such as defensive entitlements, claims in damages, restitution, criminal law sanctions), and potential gaps or inconsistencies in the system of protected goods.
