Biography

Artist-researcher at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna (IC Institute for Cultural Studies) and lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. MFA in fine arts (2008) and PhD in cultural studies (2015) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. Principal Investigator of the FWF postdoc research project "The Hysteric as Conceptual Operator" [J 4164-G24], at the University of California, Los Angeles, Stanford University and the University of Vienna (2018-2020). Research Fellow at the USC Dornsife Center for Advanced Genocide Research (winter 2021–2022).


Areas of Specialization

contemporary visual culture in relation to performance (history) studies, US-American and European cultural studies and its intermediality (twentieth century and its transferal to early twenty-first century). Main areas of research include: visual culture, American (horror) film studies, (new) hysteria studies, cultural studies, performance studies.
