Biography
MA in Psychology and Anthropology, University of Vienna. 2011 Dr.phil. at the Department of Cultural Studies at Humboldt University Berlin. Research stays at University of Washington (Seattle) and Käte Hamburger Kolleg (Duisburg, Germany). Since 2018 PI of research projects on Jewish history in Iran and Muslim and Jewish minorities in Austria. From 2015 to 2019 lecturer at the institutes for European Ethnology and Oriental Studies at University of Vienna. Since 2018 research fellow at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW).
Areas of Specialization
Modern history of Iran, Historical Anthropology, Jewish history in Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asia, religious identity and conversion, religious minorities and trade networks (19-20 cent.), migration and biographic research methods.
