CURRICULUM VITAE (short)

Benjamin Fischer acquired a degree in General Linguistics from the University of Vienna, and is now pursuing a degree in Computer Science with a focus on Scientific Computing. He also worked as a tutor in phonetics and phonology at the Department of Linguistics, University of Vienna. His current research interests are mostly in the history and philosophy of formal grammar, but also in computational methods in linguistic theory. He has been employed at the Phonogrammarchiv for several years in a minor supporting position and is well-acquainted with the Phonogrammarchiv’s database, audio and video editing software, and archival procedures.

Since January, 2019 member of the cooperation project Korpus Österreichische Dialektaufnahmen im 20. Jahrhundert [“Corpus Austrian Dialect Recordings from the 20th Century”]
