Berta Karlik (1904–1990) was an Austrian physicist who in 1973 became the first woman to be appointed a full member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW). As the final highlight of the Berta Karlik Year dedicated to her, an exhibition will be held at the OeAW on  »Discovering Women Researchers: Women at the Academy of Sciences« will be held. The exhibition, curated by Brigitte Mazohl, will be ceremonially opened on 1 December.

As part of the exhibition, the artist Tatiana Lecomte critically examined the painting »Eine Sitzung der Kaiserlichen Akademie der Wissenschaften in Wien« by Olga Prager in the OeAW Club Room. By means of a permanent art installation, she will immortalise the names of all female members on the walls of the room.
