Biography
Born in 1983 in Bad Ischl, Upper Austria. Studied social and cultural anthropology (Mag. phil.) and history (MA) at the University of Vienna, as well as social work (BA) at the University of Applied Sciences FH Campus Vienna. PhD (Dr. phil.) from the University of Vienna in 2022. 2011–2017: professionally active in the field of social work, primarily in counselling and supporting survivors of Nazi persecution. Junior fellowship at the International Research Center for Cultural Studies (IFK) of the University of Arts (Linz) in Vienna from 2018 to 2020. Research stays at the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland, and the Institute of Contemporary History in Munich, Germany. From 2022 to 2023, post-doc-track fellowship of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW). Since 2024, ÖAW-APART-GSK fellowship for a duration of four years. From February to October 2024, postdoctoral researcher at the ÖAW-ISA (Institute for Social Anthropology). From November 2024 to May 2025, research associate in science communication for the project Brain Research at Institutes of the Kaiser Wilhelm Society in the Context of National Socialist Injustices, based at the Centre for Science Studies of the German National Academy of Sciences Leopoldina in Halle (Saale), Germany. From July 2025, postdoctoral researcher at the ÖAW-IKW. Actively involved on a voluntary basis in various fields of social work since transitioning from the social sector to academia.
