Biography
Maximilian Becker (born 1980) received a doctorate from the University of Munich and currently holds a Lise Meitner position at the IC. Studied Modern and Contemporary History, the History of Eastern and Southeastern Europe and International Law in Munich, 2008-2011 Doctoral candidate at the Max Planck Institute for European Legal History, Frankfurt, 2011 Fellow at the Leibnitz Institute for European History, Mainz, 2012 Doctorate in History from Ludwig Maximilians University, Munich. In 2014 he received the Richard-Schmid-Preis für herausragende Leistungen auf dem Gebiet der Juristischen Zeitgeschichte. 2012-2013 Lecturer at the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, 2014-2015 Research Fellow at the Vienna Wiesenthal Institute for Holocaust Studies (VWI), in 2015 as well Scholarship holder of the German Historical Institute (DHI) in Warsaw, 2015-2016 Senior Researcher at the Herder Institute for Historical Research on East Central Europe, Marburg, 2016-2017 Researcher (external) at the Institute of Contemporary History, University of Vienna, 2017 also Scholarship holder at the DHI Moscow, 2017-2019 Researcher at the Institute of Contemporary History (IfZ ) in Munich. Since August 2019, he holds a Lise Meitner position at the IKT.
