Strobl26 – Harmonic Analysis and Beyond

Every two years, Lake Wolfgang becomes a meeting place for international mathematicians: From June 7 to 13, 2026, researchers working in harmonic analysis and related fields gathered at the Bundesinstitut für Erwachsenenbildung in St. Wolfgang near Strobl for the conference “Strobl26: Harmonic Analysis and Beyond.”

The conference was organized by the Acoustics Research Institute of the OeAW, together with the Numerical Harmonic Analysis Group of the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Vienna and CeDAR at UC Davis.

The scientific program included five invited main lectures, 32 contributed talks, and 41 posters. The invited speakers were Bernhard G. Bodmann from the University of Houston, USA; Ujué Etayo from CUNEF Universidad, Spain; Dustin Mixon from Ohio State University, USA; Clarice Poon from the University of Warwick, UK; and Tino Ullrich from TU Chemnitz, Germany.

The conference focused on harmonic analysis and its many connections beyond the field's classical core. The topics reflected the breadth of the research area, ranging from function spaces, time-frequency analysis, and Gabor analysis to frame theory, sampling theory, compressed sensing, pseudodifferential operators, numerical and abstract harmonic analysis, and applications.
