ISH 2025

The 20th International Symposium on Hearing (ISH 2025) will take place in Vienna, Austria, from June 1 at 18:00 to June 6 at 13:00, 2025.

The symposium will be hosted at Hotel Schloss Wilhelminenberg, a historic imperial retreat offering a spectacular view over Vienna. Participants will be accommodated on-site to foster a collegial atmosphere and encourage dynamic exchanges.

ISH meetings have a long-standing tradition of bringing together researchers from diverse fields of hearing science, including psychophysics, physiology, and auditory modeling. ISH2025 will also extend its scope to the emerging field of auditory cognitive neuroscience. Consistent with the established format, we invite innovative, unpublished contributions from any of these areas, which will be considered for oral or poster presentations.

In addition to welcoming established researchers, we strongly encourage participation from early-career researchers, particularly those in the late PhD phase. A reduced registration fee will be available through a limited number of studentships.

We look forward to an engaging symposium that promotes collaboration, discussion, and new insights in the field of hearing research.

The abstract submission is already closed.

Authors of accepted presentations (talks or posters) will have the opportunity to submit an associated publication in an ISH2025 Special Issue, which will be published in the peer-review open-access journal Trends in Hearing. Deadline for submission of full papers will be after the symposium, in early fall 2025. There will be a 50%-discount on publication fees (publication will be exclusively online). To avoid publication delays, the manuscripts will be published on a rolling basis.
