The Upper Paleolithic in Eastern Central Europe and the Transition to the Mesolithic
A symposium featuring latest research results in Upper Palaeolithic and Mesolithic studies in eastern Central Europe and beyond will take place in Vienna and Mistelbach on October 9-10.
The meeting accompanies the ongoing exhibition ‘ICE AGE’ which displays new results of Palaeolithic research in Lower Austria, and is held in honour of Christine Neugebauer-Maresch who played a lead role in reactivating Palaeolithic research in Austria.
We look forward to more than 30 presentations of specialists from across Europe focussing on archaeological sequences, lithic technology, symbolic representations, demographic aspects, transition of hunter-gatherer lifeways into the Holocene, palaeo-environmental aspects, and the presentation of new research concepts.
