The ubiquitous juxtaposition of different texts on one artefact or several inscriptions in a defined space raises the question of how their relationship to each other can be described. To what extent are sociological approaches suitable for outlining the interaction of (ancient) scribes expressed in such ensembles? Using examples between antiquity and modern times, models such as »socialisation« and »communalisation« will be tested.
