From Kurgan fields to military training camps: Non-invasive archaeological investigations in the Gardabani district of Southern Georgia

After a short review of the main topics of recent research in the Southern Caucasus, the talk will present the first results of  GIGAP (Georgian-Italian Gardabani Archaeological Project) in the Gardabani district of Southern Georgia. Special attention will be paid to the use of non-invasive multi-scale techniques for the investigation of large kurgan fields.
