Wolfgang Busch wins SEB President's Medal

Dr Wolfgang Busch has won the 2015 President's Medal of the Society for Experimental Biology (SEB) in the Plant section. The SEB President's Medals are awarded annually to young scientists of outstanding merit, one each in the sections of Plant, Animal, Cell, and Education & Public Affairs.

Wolfgang's award comes in recognition of his outstanding work on comprehending how plant growth and development are quantitatively regulated at the molecular level. By combining developmental and systems biology with GWAS into a systems genetics approach, his group at the Gregor Mendel Institute has uncovered several novel genes and molecular mechanisms that quantitatively tune root growth.
