We are pleased to announce that Dr Frederic Berger has officially joined the Gregor Mendel Institute as a Senior Group Leader as of September 1, 2014. Dr Berger comes to the GMI from the Temasek Life Science Laboratory in Singapore, where he was a group leader for ten years. Before that he researched as a postdoctoral fellow at the John Innes Centre in Norwich.
Dr Berger's research focus is on plant epigenetics, in particular the impact of core histones on genome expression, organization and inheritance, and the interactions of histone variants with other chromatin modifications.
We wish Dr Berger the very best in his new research home at the Gregor Mendel Institute!
