Biography

Rafael Cimatti Elias is a researcher with a background in civil liability within the French, Brazilian, and Roman legal systems. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Law (2018) and a Master's degree (“mestrado”) in Civil Law (2022) from the University of São Paulo's Faculty of Law (FDUSP). During this period, he taught as an assistant for courses in Roman Law I and II at the FDUSP's Civil Law Department (2014–2021), and worked as a research assistant for the elaboration of the Brazilian National Report on Copyright – WIPO (2020).
Currently, he is a PhD Candidate at the Paris-Panthéon-Assas University, where his research focuses on the justifications for strict liability in French law. At the same university, he has also lectured on Law of Obligations, Special Contracts, and Introduction to Law and Civil Law (2023–2025).
