The interdisciplinary conference, hosted by the ACDH will bring together not only scholars and practitioners in the field of lexicography but also experts from the fields of digital humanities, natural language processing, software development, and artificial intelligence.

The conference takes place in the context of the European project European Lexicographic Infrastructure – ELEXIS.

ELEXIS brings together traditional lexicography and digital methods in order develop an infrastructure which will foster cooperation and knowledge exchange between different research communities in lexicography and to bridge the gap between lesser-resourced languages and those for which advanced experience in e-lexicography exists. It will establish common standards and solutions for the development of lexicographic resources and develop strategies, tools and standards for extracting, structuring and linking lexicographic resources. The ELEXIS infrastructure will enable access to standards, methods, lexicographic data and tools for scientific communities, industries and other stakeholders and will promote an open access culture in lexicography.

Over the course of a two-day conference the project partners will discuss with an international audience challenges and innovative developments in the field of e-lexicography. Special focus will be given to topics such as legal issues, open access and standards. Furthermore, the ELEXIS infrastructure with its components and tools will be presented.
