Research Group Leaders: Isabella Buber-Ennser (on leave) and Richard Gisser (interim)
This research group considers itself to be a competence centre for questions of the Austrian population in a national and European context. It conducts research into the structure and development of the population in this country and participates as the Austrian partner in international networks.
Fertility and Family
Research Group Leader: Tomas Sobotka
The task of this research group is to carry out comparative studies on European demography. Specifically of interest are the Central and Eastern European (CEE) countries.
Health & Longevity
Research Group Leader: Marc Luy
This research group deals primarily with the determinants of longevity and ageing in good health (DELAG).
Economic Demography
Research Group Leaders: Alexia Fürnkranz-Prskawetz
The focus of our group is on the study of economic determinants and consequences of changes in population structure and dynamics. We carry out research into these complex processes using advanced methodologies drawn from several disciplines.
