Geometric Challenges in Isogeometric Analysis
Abstract:
Isogeometric Analysis has been established in 2005 by T.J.R. Hughes et al. in order to bridge the gap between Design and Analysis. The word "Design" refers to the software and the mathematical technology of Computer Aided Geometric Design, while "Analysis" represents the field of PDE-based numerical simulation, in particular using the finite element method. The talk discusses some of the (mostly) geometric challenges that are associated with this field.
