This research examines how Kazakhstan’s nuclear past, particularly the legacy of nuclear testing at the Semipalatinsk Test Site, has been internalized, narrated, and culturally represented by the local population. It explores the ways individuals and communities engage with this history, contributing to the formation of cultural memory and heritage in post-Soviet Kazakhstan.
