Academic education: African Studies (with a special focus on the History of Africa) and Cultural and Social Anthropology at the University of Vienna. Diploma (M.A.) and doctoral degree with distinction. Numerous scholarships, research grants and awards.
Cooperating with the Phonogrammarchiv since 1996 – as a depositor of his own African field recordings (audio and video), as the editor and publisher of several CD publications, and later on as a freelancer (archiving) – he has been employed at the archive since 2005.
Main task areas: archiving and researching Africa-related and cultural-anthropological collections.
