The harbour city of Hala Sultan Tekke is one of the largest Late Bronze Age settlements in Cyprus. Pre-excavation surveys with ground-penetrating radar lead to the discovery of new city quarters which were exposed during four seasons (2010 to 2013). The stone structures date mainly to the 13th/12th century BCE but there are also earlier remains. Well-built architecture, a copper production workshop, evidence of extensive textile production and purple dyeing, bronze, ceramic and stone objects, weapons and jewellery, and several cylinder seals and figurines update the picture of this intercultural city. Some of the finds, especially the painted pottery, are unique and include the "Creature Krater", the "Bird Krater" and the “Horned God Krater”. Numerous imports point to far-reaching intercultural contacts. The presentation will provide an overview over the results from these four seasons.
