The monograph on early Islamic copper coinage written by Nikolaus Schindel—»Sylloge Nummorum Arabicorum Österreich, Volume I: Early Islamic Copper Coins Following the Reform of 77 AH (696/697 CE)« – published by the Austrian Archaeological Institute in cooperation with the Austrian Numismatic Society – was awarded the prestigious Samir Shamma Prize by the Royal Numismatic Society in London. This prize is awarded every two years for the best publication on Islamic coinage. Congratulations!
