In 2025, the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) awarded project funding in the amount of € 1,744,515 to the OeAI. This comprises three individual projects, one international individual project, an 18% stake in an international project and five book projects. An ERC Starting Grant of € 1,650,690 was also secured. Additional third-party funding amounting to € 340,000 came from funding bodies such as the provinces of Lower Austria, Upper Austria and Burgenland, the City of Vienna, the Gerda Henkel Foundation, the Regula Pestalozzi Foundation and the University of Ljubljana.
Second-party funding
The OeAI has raised a total of around € 2.4 million from the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW) Equipment Fund, the Heritage Science Austria 2.0 Call, two DocScholarships and one APART scholarship. In addition, funding from the OeAW's foundations and legacies has been awarded to the OeAI.
