Thanks to the generous support of the GO.INVESTIGATIO fellowship of the Austrian Academy of Sciences Lida-Maria Dodou spends eight months in Greece, conducting research in archives and visiting libraries in Athens and Salonica. Lida-Maria Dodou is a PhD student at the University of Vienna, at the Institute for Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies. This grant enables her to finish her research for her dissertation project, which concerns the migration of Salonica Jews to the Habsburg Empire. She is currently working on examining the financial aspects that were related to the migration and its long-term impact. She has therefore visited archives such as the Jewish Museum of Thessaloniki, the General State Archives, the archives of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens et al., to complement the research she has already conducted in Austria and other countries.
