Christian Gastgeber, head of the Research Group "Language, Text and Script" at the Department for Byzantine Research at IMAFO, published in the Journal of Byzantine Studies new findings on the medieval Western European adaptation of a method to calculate the date of Easter developed in Egypt, based on discoveries in a manuscript in the Biblioteca Ambrosiana in Milano.
This discovery found enormous interest in the media and was covered by the Austrian Academy of Sciences, Austrian TV (ORF Science) and the newspapers Kurier, Die Presse, Standard and Wiener Zeitung.
