Congratulations to Samir Banik

Dr. Samir Banik’s Ph.D. thesis has been selected for honorable mention by the Indian Physics Association Award Committee for the „Rahul Basu Memorial Best Thesis in High Energy Physics“ 2020-2022.

Dr. Banik did his Ph.D. from NISER/HBNI in the year 2021 from the School of Physical Scienses, NISER. His Ph.D. thesis was titeld „Search for Lightly Ionizing Particles in SuperCDMS and simulation of neutron backgrounds“. Currently he is a postdoctoral fellow at CRESST experiment from the Institut of High Energy Physics (HEPHY) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (ÖAW) and the Technische Universität Wien.
