EMBO workshop "Plant evolution: from origins to diversification on land"

From November 25th-27th, 2025, the EMBO workshop at Vienna BioCenter brought together a diverse community of scientists investigating diverse plant groups – algae, and spore-producing land plants (bryophytes, lycophytes and ferns) – long neglected as molecular genetic experimental organisms. Group Leader Liam Dolan co-organized the event, which featured presentations by Group Leaders Yasin Dagdas and Silvia Ramundo. Initially open to 120 participants, this fourth installment of the EMBO workshop series (Vienna (2016), Lisbon (2018), Bhubaneswar (2022)) was over-enrolled with 180 attendees.
