Managing a secure future with AI
Save the Date – Announcement of the PANELFIT final event – 28 March 2022 in Vienna
What: The ongoing technical evolution in the field of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and its impacts on the protection of human rights are also reflected in recent adaptations of EU regulations. These developments present us with new scenarios to which stakeholders, policy makers and end users must adapt as soon as possible. With Artificial Intelligence in the mix, a new paradigm arises.
PANELFIT: The EU-project PANELFIT tries to facilitate the adaptation processes between new technical advances and legal frameworks. At the final event in Vienna, we will discuss potential gaps in existing and upcoming regulation. We will look at different proposals to govern Artificial Intelligence with regard to ethics and practice. One goal is also to shed light on potential gaps between the AI Act and the GDPR.
The Vienna event is one out of a series of final dissemination conventions of the PANELFIT project, to which we would like to draw your attention. The complete list of events can be found here.
Who should come: The different stakeholder groups that are affected by and involved in application and further development of technology as well as the legal framework – NGOs, industry/business, policy makers, EU agencies and academia.

Work Package Leader for Security/Cybersecurity (project team: Johann Čas, Jaro Krieger-Lamina, Walter Peissl)
