Biographical sketch

Zsuzsanna grew up in a small Hungarian village before moving to Budapest to earn her BSc and MSc in Biology at the Eötvös Loránd University. Her interest in cellular mechanisms took her to Tübingen, Germany, where she completed her PhD at the Interfaculty Institute of Cell Biology, focusing on the regulation of autophagy in human cells and C. elegans. After moving to Vienna, Zsuzsanna joined the Gerlich Lab as a senior research assistant before transitioning into her current role as a postdoctoral researcher. She is particularly passionate about developing new sequencing-based methods and using sister-chromatid-sensitive Hi-C and ChIP sequencing to explore how replicated chromosomes fold to facilitate essential processes like transcription and DNA repair. Outside the lab, Zsuzsanna enjoys reading, cooking, and going for long walks.
