Biographical sketch

Nikki completed her undergraduate degree in Microbiology and Genetics at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, as well as her B.Sc. Hons Microbology. Her M.Sc. Microbiology thesis was completed at University of Pretoria focusing on the effectors of the T6SS of novel potato pathogen. She first worked at Stimuplant, South Africa, producing biological agricultural fertilisers and thereafter in Austria as a clinical technician for vaccine development at Valneva. Currently, she is a research assistant in the lab. Administrative roles include assisting with lab organization and scientifically, helping generate cell lines for the various projects going on in the lab, and also to lend an extra pair of hands on some projects, especially upon nearing completion.
