Biographical sketch

Originally from Russia, Dmitry earned his Specialist degree (an integrated BSc/MSc program) in Bioengineering and Bioinformatics at Moscow State University. There, his diploma work in the Mironov lab focused on computationally characterizing the functional roles of architectural RNAs. Now a PhD student, he uses sequencing data to study how replicated chromosomes fold and the role cohesins play in this process. His day-to-day work involves applying various bioinformatics tools and statistical methods to analyse large-scale genomic datasets. A true coffee connoisseur and brewing expert, Dmitry loves working with specialty coffee to dial in his cup exactly to his taste, whether at home or right in the institute kitchen. To unwind, he usually catches up on a few ongoing anime series.
