Global warming is advancing, biodiversity is declining, democracies are under pressure worldwide, and disruptions to supply chains are becoming increasingly frequent. At the same time, we are witnessing rapid technological advances, for example in the field of artificial intelligence, which are having a significant impact on how we interact as a society, both at work and in our everyday lives. Given the urgency, dynamism and complexity of these issues, how can and should technology assessment (TA) operate effectively and provide scientifically sound advice to decision-makers? Researchers from various TA contexts come together to provide answers. This title is also available as open access.
