ITER Construction Site Update (June 2021)

ITER's construction is now 78 % complete. The ORF has published an article about ITER and the construction progress.

The Austrian public service broadcaster ORF has published an article titled "Kernfusion: Die Sonne auf Erden rückt näher" (German) about ITER and the current construction progress. The report was also included in the Ö1-Mittagsjournal (German).

The world's largest experimental fusion facility ITER aims to demonstrate the scientific and technological feasibility of fusion power. The ITER project has been under construction since 2007 and is located in Saint-Paul-lez-Durance, which is located in the South of France. Now, the construction is 78 % completed, which ITER illustrated in an informative video published on 13 June.

The next big step is the arrival of ITER's centrepiece, the central solenoid magnet. It will be delivered by the technology company General Atomics.
