Biographical sketch

Lina Lasar is a PhD student at the Vienna Institute of Demography, where she is part of the Research Group “Health and Longevity.” She is also a doctoral candidate at the Vienna Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the University of Vienna. She holds a master’s degree in Socioeconomics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business.

Her academic work has explored socioeconomic inequalities, the philosophy of science, and the impact of the First World War on disparities in earnings, as well as mortality, and health outcomes. Before joining VID, she worked as a research assistant at the Dondena Research Centre at Bocconi University and at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. Her doctoral research focuses on mortality and health differentials among Roma populations in Europe.
