Kateryna Golovina (née Savelieva) is a Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at the Vienna Institute of Demography (VID/ÖAW), in the Research Group "Fertility and Population Change." She holds an FWF Merit Award and leads her own project, "Psychology of Fertility Behaviour." Her research examines the ongoing fertility decline in high-income countries and the psychological factors that may underlie it, with a particular focus on people's fertility preferences, the psychological drivers of fertility behaviour, and the role mental health problems play in fertility decisions.

Kateryna Golovina received her PhD in Psychology from the University of Helsinki in 2017. In 2024, she was awarded the title of Docent in Psychology by the University of Helsinki. Between 2014 and 2026, she held several research positions at the University of Helsinki. From 2020 to 2026, she also worked part-time at the Population Research Institute of the Family Federation of Finland.
