Biographical sketch

Isabella Buber-Ennser is Head of the Research Group “Demography pf Austria”. Her research is on fertility and families in Austria as well as on forced migration to Austria. In her empirical studies, mainly based on individual data, she focuses on fertility intentions and their realisation, on regional differences in fertility plans and childbearing and on aspects of health and wellbeing within families. In her work, she highlights recent developments in Austria in a comparative setting. Since 2015, she carries out research on displaced persons arriving in Austria, specifically on their human capital, their sociodemographic background and their integration in the Austrian society. Buber-Ennser is representing Austria in the consortium board of the “Generations and Gender Programme (GGP)” and a longstanding member of the GGP-community. She is part of the scientific advisory boards of the German Family Family Demography Panel (FReDA) and the Austrian Socio-Economic Panel (ASEP).
