Abstract: Many challenges facing modern societies are systemic: they arise from interactions among numerous components forming complex webs of cause and effect. In this short workshop course, you’ll learn how to identify and represent systems, their components, and relationships. You'll develop skills in recognizing typical systems behavior and spotting leverage points for intervention. Case studies will illustrate how systems analysis supports decision-making in sustainable development.
Theoretical concepts are brought to life with examples and brief exercises to hone your systems thinking skills. Small challenges at the end let you test what you’ve learned.
No specific prior knowledge is required.
This session will introduce you to systems analysis approach. We will look at the major concepts, systems mapping and conclude with an interactive activity using systems model.
