Special Semester 2025 - Computational Methods for Electric Machines

This year's Special Semester will be held on the topic "Compuational Methods for Electric machines" and will take place October 6 - December 12, 2025.

Monday 06.10.2025 , duration: 68 days

Overview

Electro-mechanical energy conversion has important applications in power generation, industrial manufacturing, and electric mobility. Technological innovations in electric machinery thus can make a significant contribution to increasing sustainability and reaching our climate goals.

This special semester aims at bringing together experts from the applied sciences and industry to discuss the challenges and recent advances in theoretical foundations and computational tools required for the next level of electric machine design. Of particular interest are

  • industrial applications
  • advances in material modeling
  • novel simulation paradigms
  • design optimization

The scientific programme is accompanied by a Training-school on "Electric machine simulation" targeted at junior scientists who are interested in getting involved in this research field.
