Senior Scientist Jürgen Knoblich receives an ERC Advanced Investigator Grant

The grant is worth just under 2.5 Million Euro and will be paid out over a period of five years. By awarding the grant, the European Research Council has chosen to support the project NeuroSyStem led by Jürgen Knoblich. Using a systems level approach, the project aims to understand how self-renewal is controlled in neural stem cell lineages and how defects in this process can lead to the formation of brain tumors in model organisms.
