Julius Brennecke elected new EMBO member

IMBA Senior Scientist Julius Brennecke is awarded the life-long membership by EMBO, the European Molecular Biology Organization. With a membership in its organization EMBO recognizes outstanding research contributions and input to promote excellence in life sciences.

This year, for its 50th anniversary, EMBO enlarges its membership and newly elects 106 researchers. Only four scientists come from Austrian institutes with Julius Brennecke, IMBA, being one of them. All together the EMBO Membership currently comprises more than 1600 life scientists.

Julius Brennecke joined IMBA in 2009 as a Group Leader. The focus of his group lies on investigating the small regulatory piRNAs and their corresponding signaling pathways. Since January 2014, Julius Brennecke holds the position of a Senior Scientist at IMBA.
