Barbara Kraus is joining IMBA as the institute’s new Managing Director, effective November 1. With over 25 years of experience in science and management, Barbara Kraus brings expertise and leadership skills that position the institute for continued growth and innovation. 

Barbara Kraus, PhD, MBA, joins IMBA from Takeda Pharmaceuticals in Vienna, where she was the Head of Gene Therapy Process Development and a Senior Director in the Pharmaceutical Sciences Division. Her background spans diverse fields, including vaccine development, biologics, and gene therapy.  

As Managing Director, Dr. Kraus will collaborate closely with IMBA’s scientific leadership, researchers, and staff to support the institute’s mission of advancing cutting-edge research in molecular biotechnology.
