Silvia Ramundo Earns FEBS Excellence Award

Silvia Ramundo's research into Chloroplast Biogenesis and Protein Quality Control garners international recognition with the 2023 FEBS Excellence Award.

We are proud to announce that Silvia Ramundo, a group leader at our institute, has been honored with the 2023 FEBS Excellence Award from the Federation of European Biochemical Societies. This international recognition is for her contributions to understanding chloroplast biogenesis and protein quality control.

The FEBS Excellence Award, providing €100,000 over three years, will support her team’s research on the molecular mechanisms regulating chloroplast protein degradation. To address this fundamental biological question, the Ramundo lab will leverage high-throughput robotics and proteomics, reflecting the institute's commitment to pioneering scientific discovery.
