Fascination of Plants Day 2018 at the Vienna Open Lab and GMI

As part of the international Fascination of Plants Day, the GMI once again teamed up with the Vienna Open Lab to offer a two hour program to school classes to introduce them to the fascinating world of plants.

In the Vienna Open Lab, the students carried out experiments to learn about plant vasculature and hormones - in this case, how Abcissic Acid inhibits germination. After 90 minutes in the lab, the students were able to make their own sprout garden in an egg carton, which they could then take home, watch the plants grow, and eventually harvest them to eat!
