How We Deal with Artificial Intelligence in the Future
09.10.2026
In short, the ITA team is committed to using AI responsibly and transparently. For us, AI is a tool that supports us in all aspects of TA but cannot replace it. In accordance with good scientific practice, we continue to take full responsibility for the quality of our results and reports.
The following guidelines guide our work: compliance with laws and regulations, quality control, critical approach, people first, prudent use of AI, transparency, learning process and continuous evaluation and distinctive features of social and political consultancy
Michael Nentwich, director of the institute, emphasizes: “The ITA is aware of both the capabilities of the new AI tools and their limitations. As knowledge disseminators, we must be particularly cautious so that the recipients of our research in society and politics can continue to rely on us to handle the use of AI not only in compliance with the law but also in a thoughtful and considered manner in many respects. People will continue to be the authors of ITA studies.”
The new AI policy stands alongside the Institute’s mission statement and is part of a series of previously adopted policies—which continue to guide us—regarding our thoughtful approach to the environment, privacy, and open access. The AI policy will be updated at regular intervals, as necessary, in line with the dynamics of technological development in this field and our experiences.
