On July 6, 2026, results for the 2025 EU Homelessness Count in the City of Salzburg were presented at a press conference at the vice-mayor's office. Results show that 910 persons are currently experiencing homelessness in the city. Applying the ETHOS Light Typology as a common definition, the Salzburg numbers can be connected to the results from other 34 cities taking part in the EU-wide project. The EU Homelessness Counts were coordinated by KU Leuven and have been a first attempt to generate comparable data on homelessness in multiple member states.
