CURRICULUM VITAE (short)

Christian Liebl studied English, German and History of Art at the Universities of Edinburgh and Vienna, where he earned an MPhil and subsequently also gained an MSc in Library and Information Studies (both with distinction). A lecturer in adult education and at the Department of English (University of Vienna) for several years, he has, since 1994, been associated in various capacities with the Phonogrammarchiv. Currently, he is jointly responsible for the edition of the archive’s major CD series (The Complete Historical Collections 1899–1950) and its yearbook (International Forum on Audio-Visual Research) as well as for user support and the library. In 2013 he was awarded the “Wiener Preis für Kuratorentätigkeit” (‘Vienna Prize for curatorial work’, Theodor Körner Fund). Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries of London (elected 2024).
