Deciphering Scrolls with Tomography: Otmar Scherzer featured in the Notices of the AMS

The leader of the RICAM group "Inverse Problems and Mathematical Imaging", Otmar Scherzer, together with Sonia Foschiatti and Axel Kittenberger, has published an article in the November issue of the prestigious Notices of the American Mathematical Society. The publication presents how ancient papyrus scrolls can be restored using methods from mathematical imaging. The article can be accessed here.
