Organized by Dr. Claudius Krause (HEPHY) and Dr. Nicki Holighaus (ARI), in collaboration with Dr. Markus Kunzmann (ACDH-CH), the event was funded for the first time by the Machine Learning at the Austrian Academy of Sciences (MLA2S) platform.

The program featured lectures and hands-on workshops, allowing participants to apply AI methods in their respective fields. Leading AI researchers contributed to the event, including Michael Bronstein, Scientific Director AI of the AITHYRA Institute.

With 40 selected participants from more than ten institutes of the Austrian Academy of Sciences and leading Austrian universities such as the University of Vienna, the University of Salzburg, and JKU Linz, interest in the program exceeded capacity. The strong demand underscores the AI Winter School’s growing role in fostering AI expertise and collaboration across disciplines.
