On 24 April 2026, the Institute for Social Anthropology (ISA) joined the Long Night of Research, Austria’s largest public event celebrating science and research – welcoming visitors to explore anthropology in engaging and creative ways.

At the ISA booth, three exciting projects brought current research to life: Maria Six-Hohenbalken’s “ZOZAN – Investigations on Mobility through Multimedia Documentation, Art Interventions, Art-Based Research, and (Re)Presentations”, alongside two projects led by Hubert Feiglstorfer –“CLIMATE-Arch: Climate and Contemporary Transformations of Vernacular Architecture” and “Spatial Concepts and Ritual Topography in the Western Himalayas.” Together, they offered fascinating insights into mobility, climate, architecture, and cultural practices across diverse regions.

From 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm, project members Eszter Ágota Hárs, Marina Stoilova, Tsering Dronghsar, Lobsang Yongdan, and Martin Pospichal engaged with a large and curious audience, sparking conversations and inviting visitors to connect with their research.

A standout highlight of the evening was the chance for visitors to have their names written in Tibetan script – an interactive experience offered by Tsering Dronghsar that proved especially popular.
